My Creative Journey

I have always been creative; dressmaking and fabrics were passions of mine in my younger days but family and career then took over. My more recent creative journey started with artisan jewellery - wirework in particular - making one-off pieces inspired by local landscape, history, culture and folklore.

I always use genuine gemstones in my jewellery. NorthStone itself a reference to the Smokey Quartz, or Morion, gemstone which I am always particularly drawn to and was one of the first gemstones I bought for myself. It is the national gemstone of Scotland, originally mined in the Cairngorms and usually features in some way in my jewellery collections.

As time passed, I developed skills in mixed media and fabric sculpting and have started combining my passion for wirework with sculpting techniques and this has taken me in a whole new direction.

You will often see influences of the North in my designs, particularly Scotland where I grew up and now live. Combined with some fabulous history, the dramatic scenery and rugged coastlines provide a great backdrop and a huge amount of inspiration fo

Mixed Media

As a Wire and Mixed Media Artist I now also run art and jewellery workshops across Cumbria and South West Scotland, as well as developing tutorials for anyone who can’t visit us locally.

Workshops are relaxed and welcoming, allowing you to switch off and become immersed in creating fabulous art. Best of all, you don’t need any crafting experience to join in the fun as everything is broken down step by step.

I am a trained tutor, stockist and team lead for Powertex UK and cover Cumbria and Dumfries & Galloway. If you have your own craft group, I am happy to travel to you.

I’d love to welcome you to my lovely little studio here on the farm or one of the venues listed below:

Cummertrees Mill, Annan, D&G

Hobbycraft, Kingstown, Carlisle
