Workshop FAQs

1. What is Powertex?

Powertex is a universal craft medium and a must-have for creatives. It is in effect a fabric hardener, weatherproofing agent and glue all rolled into a fabulous paint product. Choose from 10 colours and use it in fabric sculpting or to create clays, stone effects and mixed media artwork. Keep your finished artwork indoors for the advised time, using the correct techniques and it will then be weatherproof for garden use. Powertex is water based, non-toxic and environmentally friendly. It will wash off the skin with warm soapy water.

2. Powertex Workshops

We like to use recycled products and fabrics where we can, so you will often find a used wine bottle can become a fabulous dragon, or an old pair of boots suddenly becomes a birdhouse or garden planter! Whatever we are making, our workshops are designed to be a friendly, relaxed and safe space for adults and children alike to get creative and let imaginations run riot! We always recommend using gloves, aprons and wearing old clothes to our workshops due to the messy nature of the product as it will absorb into fabrics and harden them.

3. Jewellery Workshops

Jewellery workshops are focussed on chain maille and wire jewellery, with basic techniques through to more advanced artwork. Step-by-step instructions, safety glasses, equipment and materials are provided for workshops, unless otherwise advised.
